Formulas

fz = (CT × D) / (2 × √(D × RDOC − RDOC²))

IPM = fz × RPM × N

MRR = RDOC × ADOC × IPM

TEA = 2 × arccos(1 − 2×RDOC/D)

SFM_adj = SFM_base × (180° / TEA)^k

RPM = (12 × SFM_adj) / (π × D)

The SFM multiplier is an empirical approximation. k ranges from 0.35 (conservative) to 0.65 (aggressive), with 0.50 (typical) as the default. Validate against manufacturer recommendations and monitor chip color and tool wear.
